Logan Square sits in the middle of Chicago's northwest side and is the City's fifth largest neighborhood. The boundaries are Fullerton, Diversey, Western and Central Park. The area is known for its tree-lined boulevards, architectural variety and ethnic diversity.

The Logan Square Boulevard Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It includes Logan, Kedzie and Humboldt Boulevards and Logan and Palmer Squares. The architectural styles represented in the neighborhood include Art Nouveau, Prairie, Renaissance Revival and Gothic. Many of the older houses have been restored in recent years.

Logan Square boasts an interesting variety of attractions and things to do. The Historic Mansion House walk held every September provides a peek at eight area mansions including the William Nowaczewski House which has an elaborate porch, tower, gargoyles, and stepped gables.

Milwaukee Avenue shopping and restaurants range from Polish on one end to Hispanic on the other. A "Taste of Logan Square" has become an annual August tradition.

Housing. The average sale price of a single-family home in Logan Square in 2009 was $505,972 and ranged widely from $40,000 to $2,300,000.

Around 65 percent of the housing in Logan Square consists of two-flats and multi-family dwellings. The most typical residence is a two-flat gray-stone with three bedrooms and one bath. Many owners have converted two-flats into spacious single-family homes.

In 2009, the average sale price of condominiums and town houses in Logan Square was $288,796.

Reflecting the variety of choices, rents in Logan Square vary widely. Typical monthly rents in rehabbed buildings range from $700 per month to $4000 per month for upscale properties.

Transportation. Great public transportation is one of Logan Square's attractions. The neighborhood is about five miles northwest of the Loop. The CTA's O'Hare-Forest Park Line rapid transit trains stop at California and Milwaukee and at Kedzie and Milwaukee (Logan Square station). CTA buses run on Milwaukee, Fullerton, Western and Diversey. The Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) runs along the Eastern border of Logan Square.
